Britton Ryan Garon, J.D., LL.M., Associate Attorney at Law

Britton Ryan Garon learned an invaluable lesson when she was forced to take a leave of absence from work to take care of her terminally ill mother: make sure your estate planning is in order before it is actually needed.  “There is a lot of stress surrounding the medical and legal unknowns of your loved ones,” Britton says.  “Using what I have learned in my own experiences, my goal as an attorney is to assist each and every client with preplanning before something catastrophic happens such as an illness, incapacity or death.”

Britton received her B.A. in Criminal Justice, Cum Laude, from Northeastern University (1999), her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School (2005) and an LL.M. in Elder Law from Stetson University College of Law (2012).  She is licensed to practice law in Maine and Massachusetts.

Britton lives in York with her husband and three children. She volunteers on the Town of York Board of Appeals, York’s S.A.L.T. (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) Council and the program committee for the Maine affiliate of SAGE (Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders).  She also serves as an LGBT Aging Education Ambassador through the National Resource Center.
