Joyce L. Brown, Community Relations Manager

Joyce, a Kennebunk native, started with Maine Center for Elder Law in March of 2014. As our liaison between clients, attorneys and our community, Joyce is likely the first person you will talk with or see. She ensures that your contact with our office from the very first call is helpful and efficient. In addition to reception, intake coordination and office support, Joyce manages the firm’s community outreach as well as our online presence.

“One of the most satisfying aspects of my job is the human service nature of our work. At the conclusion of what can be a complex and emotional meeting, it is gratifying to see relief on the faces of families who are deeply concerned for their loved one’s comfort and security.”

Joyce spent the past 15 years working for several social service agencies, combining her administrative and communication skills with a passion for helping people with special needs. She taught vocational skills in an experiential learning program on a farm, and most recently worked as a therapeutic horsemanship and riding instructor. Earlier in her career Joyce was a legal assistant for several area law firms.

Joyce lives in the country in the middle of a meadow with her husband, hens and rescue dogs.
