Perkins Thompson

Prospective Clients

We look forward to assisting you. At Maine Center for Elder Law, we assist with estate planning, long-term care planning and eligibility, asset protection, guardianship and more. Many of our clients have loved ones with a health-care diagnosis, and the family needs to plan for future care. Also, we are part of the larger firm Perkins Thompson PA, which can assist with transactions, real estate, business, litigation and more.

To begin our working relationship, our intake specialist will gather relevant names for an internal "conflict of interest" check. This is required by our ethics rules to protect our clients from a conflict of interest. We also gather a description of the potential scope of work to ensure we are a good fit for your legal needs.

Our initial consultations generally occur between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on work days. The consultation is a fixed price of $475 to be paid prior to the meeting and lasts as long as you need, but typically 1 to 1.5 hours. New clients also complete a Planning Worksheet prior to the meeting, which enables the attorneys to offer substantive recommendations. This form is available under client forms. We continue to offer telephone and video meetings. In-person meetings are available but may be subject to COVID protocols.

Thank you, and we look forward to meeting you.
