Melinda L. Crocker, Legal Assistant

Melinda is actively involved in assisting the attorneys in nearly every aspect of the practice from preparing and filing court documents to compiling information for MaineCare applications, and everything in between. She regularly meets with our clients explaining processes and helping them organize information.

“I never realized there were so many facets of Elder Law. I love being able to utilize all of my educational and professional experiences to help minimize the stressors that encompass a lot of what we do for our clients. I enjoy working here because it is very rewarding to help others.”

A graduate of Purdue (Sociology with a minor in Women’s Studies) and the University of Maine Law School, Melinda joined Maine Center for Elder Law in June of 2014. Her legal education and attention to detail combined with a patient, warm manner make Melinda an invaluable part of the team. Melinda worked in social services before she went to law school, honing her considerable people skills. After graduating from law school, she took a position at a Fortune 500 staffing service as a recruiter and Operations Manager.

Melinda is a Maine native, growing up in Kennebunk with her mother and sister. She’s happy to be living in Kennebunk raising her daughter, Caroline, in the same great community.
